Hi BigTenters,

We’re excited to bring you the first installment in a new series on the techniques we use to create BigTent Announcement posts. Our first technique will teach you how to add a photo to your News entries using our rich text editor.

Admin Tip: How to add photos to News entries

1. Upload the photo(s) you want to use to your files area, with the public setting. We recommend posting these photos in a private subgroup so they aren't located with important group files.

2. Hover your cursor over the “download” link next to the photo and copy the link (URL).

3. Next, go to the News area and click “Create news entry” and then click  “Switch to rich text editor."

4. Click on the image of the tree located in the toolbar to open the photo editor. Paste the link from the photo into the “Image URL” field and click insert.

5. To resize, click on photo and drag the corners of the image. Resizing works best in Firefox or Internet Explorer.

6. Post or save it as a draft.

That's it!

Brief site maintenance tomorrow - CANCELED

We were planning to perform routine site maintenance during the wee hours tomorrow morning (7/1) but we've canceled it. We're sorry for the confusion this may cause you.

Please let us know if you have any questions by leaving us comment.

Cheers,
The BigTent Team
